Co-Publisher, Jul Hirst

juile-entertainngJul Hirst, Publisher of Women’s Online Magazine™ Los Angeles, loves to help people and this passion is evident throughout her entrepreneurial career. After years of working for others, Jul began a successful stint as a real estate agent. While helping people find their dream home, she realized her true passion was helping people and she decided to go into business for herself. Jul started For A Jul Productions (http://www.forajulproductions.com), a wedding and event planning business. Jul loves throwing a party and what could be better than getting paid for it. Using the negotiating and planning skills she had acquired through her work experience, Jul put these to use to help people achieve the perfect party and/or wedding. However, something was still missing. She was troubled by America’s youth and their lack of manners and respect.

Having raised her girls with proper etiquette, Jul decided to add etiquette consulting to her growing business. Jul began teaching weekly etiquette classes for children and teens. She loved seeing the improvements in the students and knew that she had indeed found what she was searching for. To reach more people, she broadened her scope and began conducting seminars for girl scout troops and other children’s clubs all the way up to college students through their sororities and fraternities. In addition to this, Jul instructed adults on business etiquette, including proper cell phone and internet etiquette.

While teaching, she realized that she was not able to reach some of the people who really needed her assistance because they could not afford her program. As such, Jul created her own foundation – Hearts For The City – (http://HeartsForTheCity.Org) to bridge this gap. Hearts For The City focuses on underprivileged children, children in the foster care system, especially those about to leave the program, and people re-entering the workforce. The goal is to instill confidence and composure in them so that they can overcome their adversity and achieve success.

While working as an etiquette instructor, Jul met Rima McDonald, Founder/Publisher of Women’s Online Magazine™, and inquired about writing an etiquette column for the magazine. When the Los Angeles version of the magazine became available, Jul jumped at the chance to publish it. She sees it as an opportunity to help women express themselves and pass along advice to one another, while at the same time allowing her an additional way to promote etiquette and her foundation.
