You love those high heels! Whether you are getting ready for a fancy dinner, a business meeting, or feel like wearing your new favorite heels, sometimes you just have to wear them! But those same high heels you love can also be a source of misery, make walking difficult and can lead to various foot, knee and back problems. In efforts to balance the love-hate relationship between women and their heels, Dr. Emily Splichal, aka Dr. Legs, is revealing her secrets to help stiletto lovers build and re-gain the posture, strength, balance and confidence to walk the runway of life comfortably.
A graduate of New York College of Podiatric medicine in New York City, Dr. Legs has combined her passion and expertise in fitness and Podiatric medicine to develop the exciting fitness workout series, Catwalk Confidence. The fitness routine is designed to help women gain strength, flexibility, comfort and confidence when they wear high heel shoes.
Six-inch stilettos are never easy to walk in, let alone attempting to have a comfortable head turning strut. But what we’ve recently found out is that Dr. Legs is not only a Podiatrist and creator of the Catwalk series, she’s also a personal fitness trainer. Dr. Legs teaches the Catwalk Confidence series for stiletto lovers at Dance Forum in NYC. From the hip décor to a unique music mix, classes not only focus on balance, posture and stability, but actually tone the legs, and increase confidence. Dr. Legs adds a fun twist at the end of her classes by having participants throw on their heels for a runway showdown.
Dr. Legs recently appeared on the CW 11 morning news (New York’s local TV network) where she showed off some moves from her Catwalk Confidence: The Workout DVD! She was a big hit and got everyone in the audience excited. Even the co-anchor was practicing her fun confidence-boosting moves.
