Everything can flower again

I was at a wonderful spiritual retreat, relaxing in an old property set in 500 acres of beautiful countryside overlooking the sweep of a river.  I woke early in the morning, and found I was drawn to the library. A huge high ceilinged room wall to wall with books.

Why I count my blessings

Why I count my blessings.

My world shuddered in the wake of the door slamming, and I dropped to my knees.

Moments before, clinging to his legs and begging him not to leave, my toddling children had been flicked aside by their father, as he swept out of our house, and our lives.

Panic thundered between us. Wide eyed, agape, we clung together on the floor.

I slid my wedding ring from my finger and noticed the indent in my skin from the familiar band that had bound us as a family.
